A BOUTIQUE STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC AFFAIRS AGENCY
ready to help you foster change
Let’s keep it simple
We always start with your goals, and from there we craft a strategy to communicate what you need to, to the right folks, in the right place, and at the right time.
And then together, we make it happen.
What We Do
Our heart is in working with mission-driven organizations to advance causes - whether that means educating your audience, advancing change on policy issues, fostering awareness, or differentiating you from peers in your field.
We take complicated policy and technical jargon and turn it into clear and persuasive language that anyone - be they voters, regulators, or policy makers - can understand.
We love building ideas and “I-wish-we-could” dreams into bold, meaningful, and effective communications initiatives, including through:
Media Relations
Content Strategy and Content Creation (Copywriting, Editing, Ghostwriting)
Project and Campaign Management
Strategic Long- and Short-Term Planning
Message Development
Communications Audits/SWOT Analysis
Our Experience
We know that public discourse and policy have the power to change lives and businesses - for better or worse - and we key every initiative to driving your goals forward.
With a decade of professional public affairs (PA) and public relations (PR) issue advocacy communications experience in Washington D.C., we’ve worked closely alongside nonprofits, trade associations, professional societies, political coalitions, think tanks, Fortune 10 corporations, and small businesses alike.
Our past and current state, regional, national, and international initiatives span a broad swath of industries, including agriculture, online speech and content moderation, labor, manufacturing, cybersecurity, workforce development, disaster relief, food and beverage, natural resources, digital connectivity and equity, higher education, the arts, traditional and sustainable energy, emergency health care, finance, and consumer safety.
Who We Are
Principal
Kelsey Besterman
I earned my Political Broadcast Journalism degree at DePauw University in pursuit of a career in political TV journalism, with a dream of improving how the public understands the local impact of national legislation. After graduation and several journalism internships, I started my career at KSDK News Channel 5 in St. Louis, Missouri, amidst the protests, devastation, and fear around the non-indictment of the officer who shot Michael Brown.
In that chaos, I found myself not a dream but a purpose in advocacy. I delight in the creativity of unlikely coalitions, the satisfying clarity of breaking down a complex issue, but most of all, the opportunity to amplify the voices of those who have long been unheard or silenced.
Over the past decade, I’ve established myself in the Washington D.C. public affairs and public relations, with clientele ranging from Fortune 10 companies and foreign embassies to two-person nonprofits.
Today, I live just outside the beltway in the Shenandoah Mountains with my husband and two dogs. I’m excited to keep doing what I love with a focus on mission-driven organizations and meaningful causes, big and small, that can make a difference in real lives and communities.
We don’t display case studies online because our work is about our clients, not us - but we can always provide recent samples of client successes upon request.
